Age-Friendly Individual Recognition Awards Program
The Age-Friendly Individual Recognition and Achievement Awards recognize individuals who demonstrates an outstanding commitment to creating age-friendly communities. Individuals can be nominated in the follow categories:
Individual Champion
This award recognizes individuals who have played an outstanding and meaningful role in advocating for, and helping to meet, the needs of older adults. These individuals enrich the lives of older adults and vulnerable populations through their dedication and service. They demonstrate exceptional leadership, commitment, and purposeful use of time in advancing age-friendly practices, projects, and initiatives within their communities. Their efforts actively contribute to improving the quality of life for vulnerable older adults in Simcoe County. If the candidate works in a field related to older adults, the applicant must demonstrate that the nominee has gone above and beyond the expectations of their role, making an exceptional and lasting difference in the lives of older adults.
Older Adult
This award recognizes older adults (60+) who generously devote their time to selfless volunteer service. These individuals serve as role models and champions within their communities, exemplifying the true spirit of community service. They continue to make a meaningful impact on the lives of older adults in the County by dedicating significant time to volunteer efforts on a regular basis.
Youth Champion
The Youth Champion Award celebrates outstanding youth who have made a meaningful difference in their community, with a special focus on supporting older adults. Through outstanding volunteer efforts and acts of generosity beyond expectations, these youth demonstrate leadership, empathy, and community spirit in helping to contribute to an age-friendly Simcoe County.

- Complete an Age-Friendly Individual Recognition and Achievement Nomination Form when the Program Launches each year.

2025 Age-Friendly Individual Achievement and Recognition Awards
The County of Simcoe celebrated the contributions of businesses and individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to creating age-friendly communities during the County of Simcoe Age-Friendly Recognition Awards Ceremony held on October 7, 2025.
Seven individuals were recognized for their outstanding contributions to their community based on one or more of the following criteria:
Serves as a role model and champion for others within their community(s) and exemplifies the spirit of community service.
Enriches the lives of older adults in their community(s), particularly those who are vulnerable or less able to help themselves.
leadership in and a commitment to age-friendly development, projects and/or initiatives in their community(s).
Improves the overall quality of life of vulnerable older adult residents and the community.
An older adult (60+) who devotes their time to selfless voluntary service.
