Adult Day Program goals are to provide daytime respite, support and education for families and caregivers. To offer meaningful, enjoyable and stimulating activities in a supportive community of friends, to maintain an optimal level of functioning by providing individual programming and to alleviate daily loneliness through socialization with peers. Potential clients for the program are referred through a variety of sources such as Home and Community Care, other clients, physicians, friends or relatives.
A wide range of activities is available including crafts, horticulture, films, group exercises, sing-songs, table games, guest speakers, discussions and entertainment. The program is operated by qualified staff and volunteers under the leadership of the Supervisor, Seniors Services.
- $26.50 + HST per person, per day
- Afternoon snack including tea and coffee

Adult day programs offer supervised programming in a community setting for adults, including those with Dementia and physical disabilities. They help maintain cognitive and physical functioning, promote independence, and provide opportunities for socialization and group activities. These programs ensure a safe and supportive environment, combating loneliness and isolation while fostering friendship and wellness.
This service allows families and caregivers to:
- Take a break
- Attend to their daily errands and their own physical and emotional needs.
- Keep working
- Access caregiver support
- Connect with other service providers
- Live at home and are having difficulty with daily living activities
- Would benefit from a small group, social, recreational and supportive atmosphere
- Have a cognitive disability and are able to cope within a more generic programs
- Require services related to physical disability, chronic illness or condition, diminished functional and/or physical impairment, communication disability and social isolation
- 18 years of age or older
- Have a valid health card
- Do not pose a risk to self or others

We provide a nutritious meal and snacks to all clients. We can assist during mealtimes if required.
Therapeutic diets are available to accommodate dietary needs upon request.
The programs offer a variety of recreational programs designed to promote social interaction, physical and cognitive well-being, and overall quality of life for participants. These programs often include activities like exercise, art, music, games, and outings, all tailored to the individual needs and abilities of the participants.
Transportation to the program is the responsibility of the attendee. There are services available in the community to help seniors attend external programs.

If the client is unable to attend the program, they are required to notify the program 48 hours in advance or will be charged 1/2 program attendance fee for the missed day. No Shows will incur full program costs for missed day.
Statutory Holidays
The Adult Day Program is closed for all statutory holidays. Please check monthly adult day program calendars. Inclement Weather and Winter Season
In the event of inclement weather, staff will contact the client/caregiver in the morning to inform them of program cancellations or during the day if there is a need to close the program early. We also ask that during winter and wet weather that clients bring a change of footwear to limit the potential for wet and slippery floors.
Respiratory and other Illness
We require that staff, volunteers and clients NOT attend the program if experiencing any symptoms of illness including but not limited to; runny nose, cough, sore throat, diarrhea or vomiting. Our clients are vulnerable to illness, and we do not want to expose the
other clients to illnesses wherever possible.
Both Adult Day Program sites have a bath/shower spa area where bathing services can be provided on a fee for service basis.

Adult Day Program staff are only permitted to provide medication reminders to the client to take medication at a specific time requested by the client or substitute decision maker. Program staff are not able to hold, distribute or administer medication.
