Project Overview

The County has completed the construction of a single-lane roundabout at the intersection of County Roads 56 and 21. Improvements have also been made to storm water drainage, and lighting. These improvements will enhance public safety through grade changes to improve sightlines at the intersection. The reconstruction will also improve traffic flow in the area.  

Construction began in July 2023 and was completed in December 2023. Surface paving and final line painting will occur in summer 2024, with the roundabout open for the winter months. We would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding as we work to make these necessary improvements in Essa Township.

NOTICE

The County is invested in multiple roundabout projects, including on County Road 93 (Vindin Street) and County Road 53 (Wilson Drive​).​ Roundabouts have been selected in these instances due to their many proven benefits, including safety and environmental advantages.
