Victorian Christmas successfully wraps up for 2022

Midhurst/December 13, 2022 – The Simcoe County Museum wrapped up its Victorian Christmas celebrations after a successful return from a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19. On December 8 and 9, the Museum welcomed approximately 1,450 guests to experience what Christmas looked, sounded and tasted like during the Victorian era.

Simcoe County Museum was excited to bring Victorian Christmas back for visitors to once again enjoy the Christmas market, carolling, music, festive treats, children’s crafts, and horse drawn wagon rides through lantern-lit pathways.

The County thanks visitors who got into the Christmas giving spirit and supported our Simcoe County Paramedic Toy Drive and Friends of the Simcoe County Museum. Paramedics collected 215 toys and 400 pounds of non- perishable food over the two-day event and Friends of the Simcoe County Museum raised just over $5,500. Thanks also goes out to the volunteers, Christmas market vendors, and entertainers who made the event possible (Chris Ness, Andrew Nikkanen, Jan McLeod, Joybells Bell Ringers).

Simcoe County Museum staff are already working on family programming for the winter school break, as well as preparing to open the popular Museum Skate Trail as soon as conditions permit. For more information, please visit museum.simcoe.ca or call 705-728-3721.
