Sunset Manor to welcome new residents in a phased and coordinated approach

Midhurst/January 26, 2023 – The County of Simcoe is pleased to share that effective immediately, the Ministry of Long-Term Care has lifted the suspension of admissions into Sunset Manor, providing the green light to resume admissions of new residents through a phased and coordinated approach with the Ministry and Home and Community Care Support Services. Admissions will begin the week of January 30, 2023.

The County of Simcoe, in collaboration with UniversalCare Canada Inc. (UCCI), has developed a comprehensive admissions plan, approved by the Ministry. This includes the implementation of an admissions team to ensure a smooth transition for new and existing residents, along with staff across the home.

The County’s leadership team will continue to address areas of improvement, as identified by the Ministry in their December inspections; however, the Ministry has reviewed the level of care and services provided in the home. Sunset Manor is ready to welcome new residents again and continue being the home of choice in Collingwood and west Simcoe County.

If looking for admission into Sunset Manor, please contact Home and Community Care Support Services.
