County recognizes International Volunteer Day

Midhurst/December 5, 2022 – Today marks International Volunteer Day, a global celebration of volunteers. It takes place every year on December 5 to highlight the impact of volunteer efforts everywhere.

This year’s theme, solidarity through volunteering, highlights the value of volunteers and their ability to create positive change.

The County of Simcoe is grateful to the nearly 200 Simcoe Strong volunteers, who provide support to our Long-Term Care and Seniors Services locations and Simcoe County Museum, helping with activities, one-to-one engagement, and events.

The County encourages residents to take a moment this week to share a message of thanks through social media using the hashtags #TogetherActNow and #IVD2022

For more details on how to join our Simcoe Strong Volunteer team, please visit our Long-Term Care and Seniors Services  and Simcoe County Museum program pages.

County of Simcoe is composed of sixteen member municipalities and provides crucial public services to County residents in addition to providing paramedic and social services to the separated cities of Barrie and Orillia. Visit our website at simcoe.ca.
