County of Simcoe to host 175th Inaugural Ceremony

December 13, 2022 ~ 1 p.m.

Midhurst/November 29, 2022 – The County of Simcoe hosts its 175^th Inaugural Ceremony on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, beginning at 1 p.m. This in-person event will also be streamed live through the County’s YouTube channel.  

The ceremony includes elections for the positions of Warden, D​​eputy Warden, and Committee Chairs and Vice-Chairs for the first two years (2022-2024) of this four year Council term. The 32 members of County Council (composed of Mayors and Deputy Mayors of the area’s 16 member municipalities) elect the candidates from amongst their peers.

When	Tuesday, December 13, 2022 Ceremony begins at 1 p.m. Media are asked to contact communications@simcoe.ca should they wish to take part in a media scrum with the Warden and Deputy Warden upon completion of the Ceremony

Given the County’s role in health and emergency services for the region, guests and attendees to the public ceremony are encouraged to wear masks, use proper hand hygiene, and, where possible, maintain adequate physical distancing from other guests.
