May 8 to 14, 2023
Midhurst/May 8, 2023 – Warden Basil Clarke has proclaimed May 8 to 14, 2023 as Nursing Week, in recognition of the exemplary work of the hundreds of steadfast and compassionate nurses who provide outstanding care to residents throughout the region.
The County operates four long-term care homes and three seniors’ services campuses, with more than 1,000 staff, including Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and Personal Support Workers, each of whom do an exceptional job delivering care to our residents, both directly and indirectly.
Throughout the month of May, the County is celebrating a series of recognition days and weeks to pay tribute to the healthcare professionals, paramedics and support staff who continue to dedicate themselves towards meeting the ever growing needs of our residents, facilities, and communities each and every day.
“The County has tremendous healthcare professionals who continue to provide exceptional care to our residents,” said Warden Basil Clarke. “We all know how hard the past few years have been for those on the frontlines of healthcare. This May, we honour our nurses, PSWs, physicians, dietary staff, maintenance teams, paramedics, and many other support staff who continue to work tirelessly to keep us safe.”
Throughout May, the County asks residents to join us as we recognize the healthcare professionals in our Health and Emergency Services Division, which include Long-Term Care and Paramedic Services, Seniors Services, and Emergency Management, as well as the entire healthcare sector.
