County and area partners host Virtual Job Fair to connect local job seekers and employers on April 26


Midhurst/April 22, 2022 – On April 26, between 2 and 6 p.m., the County and area partners are collaborating on another virtual Work in Simcoe County job fair. Individuals seeking employment in Simcoe County are welcome to attend this interactive virtual job fair to connect with area businesses that are actively hiring.

Data collected from the County of Simcoe’s Work in Simcoe County website, workinsimcoecounty.ca, shows that in the month of March there were 11,074 active job openings in our region. The virtual job fair is an opportunity to connect job seekers and local employers in the region.

One hundred employers across a variety of sectors have already signed up to attend, including Honda of Canada Manufacturing, Maple Leaf Foods, the County of Simcoe, the City of Barrie, the City of Orillia, the Township of Essa, Correctional Services Recruitment, MacLean Engineering, SBS Drivetec, Prodomax Automation Ltd., Ferndale Catering, Tim Hortons, Collingwood General & Marine Hospital, Living Water Resorts, Bayshore Home Health Care, Friday Harbour Resort, J&S Blundell Roofing, the Simcoe County District School Board and more. The event will be hosted on an innovative, user-friendly platform where job seekers and employers can connect through one-on-one text chat, audio and video. There will also be live webinars during the event on important topics such as Employment Ontario services and insights from an employer panel on job search tactics.

Job seekers are encouraged to register early to access the platform five days before the event to view the companies and opportunities in advance. If job seekers register early, they can also access 1:1 support from Employment Ontario including free assistance with resume writing, developing a job search plan and preparing for the event.
