County’s Give-A-Lift campaign receives boost

Midhurst/February 20, 2024 – Late last week, the County of Simcoe was pleased to receive a $10,000 donation from the Rotary Club of Midland towards Georgian Manor’s Give-a-Lift Bus Fundraising campaign. These important funds will help Georgian achieve its fundraising goal of $160,000 towards purchasing a new accessible bus for the home’s residents.

Originally launched in 2019, the Give-A-Lift campaign has helped the County of Simcoe’s long-term care homes in their efforts to purchase four accessible buses that will service facilities in Beeton, Penetanguishene, Collingwood and Orillia. The County looks forward to sharing more news on its fundraising goals at all four of its homes in the coming months.

“We’re grateful to the Rotary Club of Midland for their generous donation. Rotary has a long-standing reputation for taking action to support their community and we are honoured to be the recipient of these welcome funds which will help ensure Georgian Manor residents are able to remain connected to and engaged in the communities they have helped to shape.”

Basil Clarke, Warden, County of Simcoe

“As Rotarians, we firmly believe in Service Above Self and in connecting people, transforming communities and funding sustainable projects. Georgian Manor’s Give-a-Lift Bus Fundraising campaign is a wonderful example of such a project, transforming the community and connecting people. The Rotary Club of Midland is proud to support the Georgian Manor staff and residents with such a pivotal project.”
