County of Simcoe is Building Up Paramedic Services in Bradford West Gwillimbury


Midhurst/May 23, 2024 – On May 22, County of Simcoe Councillors and staff were joined by representatives from the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury to celebrate the grand opening of the County’s new Paramedic Station in Bradford.

“This investment is tremendous example of how the County of Simcoe is building up the care and innovative services we provide to residents and communities across our region,” said Warden Basil Clarke. “This new five-bay, 6,200 square foot facility is strategically positioned to ensure Paramedic Services are able to continue to meet the growing and evolving needs of our communities now and into the future.”

The County of Simcoe Paramedic Services established a long-term strategic facility plan aimed at providing efficient and responsive paramedic services now and into the future. This plan outlines the need to establish a Paramedic response presence in various areas across the County to meet the evolving needs of residents and visitors.

Benefits and features of new station:

  • Location will support 9-1-1 response times and accommodate anticipated growth
  • Pneumatic air-controlled doors provide speed efficiencies to support with lowering response times
  • Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) sensor system provides enhanced security with the flexibility of working with the entire fleet of vehicles. This unique system was designed internally by County maintenance staff
  • Green initiatives include a controlled lighting system (interior and exterior) and high efficiency heating and cooling systems
  • On-site generator allows station to continue operations in the event of a power failure
