​​​​​​​​​Looking to begin or further your career in long term care and seniors services ? We’re looking for certified health-care professionals who will provide the best possible care to our residents.

You will need the following documentation, which are the industry standard and required by most long term care and seniors services employers. If you don’t have these piece, we suggest you begin the process of acquiring.

​Vaccination Requirements


As part of the County’s ongoing commitment to health and safety, there are enhanced Covid-19 specific safety protocols and/or personal protective equipment requirements (e.g. masks, eye protection, etc.) in place to help protect health and safety of staff and the public. The additional requirements are determined based on the nature of the work being carried out.​

Due to the uniquely high-risk nature of long-term care settings for Ontario’s most vulnerable individuals, the province has mandated third doses for all staff, students, volunteers, caregivers and support workers by January 28, 2022 for those currently eligible for a booster.

If not yet eligible, staff, volunteers and support workers will have until March 4, 2022 to show proof.

To be eligible for the CCPN, a nurse must:

  • Not have been employed as a nurse in Ontario in the six months prior to being hired;
  • Hold a Certificate of Registration in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Begin employment no later than March 31, 2024;
  • Commit to 24-months of employment at a full-time work schedule offered by the employer; and
  • Not simultaneously receive funds from the Ministry of Health for the Tuition Support Program for Nurses.​

Police Vulnerable Sector Check


You must provide a current Police Vulnerable Sector Check once an offer of employment is made. We can accept police checks that are less than six months old from date of hire.​

Tuberculosis Testing


We require the two-step tuberculin (T​B) skin test​ which takes four visits to your doctor. Timing is important.

Education and Certification


Once an offer of employment is made, we’ll require copies of your secondary- and post-secondary education certificates.​
