County welcomes significant investment to the region

Midhurst/April 25, 2024 – The County of Simcoe would like to extend its sincere appreciation and congratulations to Honda Canada Inc. on its history-making decision to expand its operations and continue investing in Simcoe County, at its Alliston facility.

Honda Canada Inc. has called Simcoe County home for 38 years. We’re proud to expand this partnership and further establish Simcoe County as one of Canada’s largest automotive sector regions. With this being the single largest investment by an international auto manufacturer in the history of Canada, the impact on our region will be felt for decades to come.

This is great news for Canada, Ontario, Simcoe County and the Town of New Tecumseth. With this investment, Honda is not only supporting additional jobs and growth in our region, but also helping build up and support healthy, vibrant communities.

As one of the fastest growing areas in the province, the County has been actively investing in building up our communities, services, supports, and infrastructure to prepare for growth. These investments, combined with our strategic location, provide access to a large labour force, world markets and important transportation links, such as major highway networks and the County’s Lake Simcoe Regional Airport.

On behalf of the County of Simcoe, I would like to extend our best wishes and thank Honda Canada Inc. for choosing our region to expand operations. I would also like to thank the Prime Minister, Premier and all our municipal partners for our continued collaboration and support to make this happen.
