Midhurst/October 19, 2023 – Media are invited to attend the 11th annual Newcomer Recognition Awards on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at The Heights Ski & Country Club, located in Oro-Medonte.
The Newcomer Recognition Awards ceremony was created over a decade ago by the Simcoe County Local Immigration Partnership to recognize community leaders and champions who take action to enhance the lives of newcomers in Simcoe County.
Award recipients are nominated by their peers through an open nomination process, with awards to be handed out for the following categories: Immigrant Youth; Immigrant Mentor; Immigrant Artist; Welcoming Work Environment; Multiculturalism through Education – Educator; Service Excellence Award; Youth Community Champion; Community Champion; Ethno-Cultural Group; Multiculturalism through Education – School; Marketing and Outreach; and Culturally Diverse Workforce.
