Statement from County of Simcoe Warden George Cornell
Midhurst/June 2, 2022 – On behalf of County Council, I would like to join with those around the globe in congratulating Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on her Platinum Jubilee.
Over the past 70 years, as Canada’s longest-reigning monarch, Her Majesty has offered outstanding leadership during times of great change and uncertainty. During her reign, she has visited Canada more times than any other commonwealth country, making 22 official visits to Canada, including 15 stops in Ontario.
We thank Her Majesty for her tremendous example of service and dedication to our nation, and we wish her good health as we share in the celebrations of this historic and joyous occasion.
