Midhurst/October 24, 2022 – Media are invited to attend the 10th annual Newcomer Recognition Awards on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Tangle Creek Golf and Country Club in Thornton.
The Newcomer Recognition Awards ceremony was created a decade ago by the Simcoe County Local Immigration Partnership to recognize community leaders and champions who take decisive action to enhance the lives of newcomers in Simcoe County. This year’s event will once again be an in-person celebration, highlighting the successful integration of many newcomers to Simcoe County, while showcasing our diversity and the positive impact it has on our communities.
Award recipients are nominated by their peers through an open nomination process, with awards to be handed out for the following categories: Immigrant Youth; Immigrant Mentor; Immigrant Artist; Immigrant Entrepreneur; Welcoming Work Environment; Multiculturalism through Education – Educator; Service Excellence Award; Youth Community Champion; Community Champion and Ethno-Cultural Group.
