County raises flag in recognition of World Hospice and Palliative Care Day


To be held October 7, 2022 at the County of Simcoe Administration Centre

Midhurst/October 4, 2022 – October 8 is World Hospice and Palliative Care Day (WHPCD), a unified day of action to celebrate and support hospice and palliative care around the world.

County of Simcoe dignitaries will be joined by representatives from the Simcoe County Hospice Alliance (SCHA) to commemorate this occasion while also celebrating a new five-year funding commitment that will see the County provide $500,000 a year from 2021 to 2025.

The Alliance was formed to look at regional planning and project capital needs across Simcoe County for area hospice centres. ​From 2017 to 2019, the County made a significant $1.5 million funding commitment to support local hospice centres.
