Midhurst/June 21, 2022 – The County of Simcoe is offering up to seven qualified volunteers the opportunity to make a significant contribution to their community as members of the Joint Compliance Audit Committee. The Committee is a required by the Municipal Electors Act to help ensure free and fair municipal elections.
The Joint Compliance Audit Committee will convene ad hoc starting fall 2022 to help ensure equity by reviewing potential breaches of election campaign and advertising finances rules, as reported by electors within the County’s 16 member municipalities and the City of Orillia. Committee members will receive per diem compensation for their time.
To qualify to join the Committee, applicants must reside within one of the 16 member municipalities or the City of Orillia. Members of the Committee cannot be: employees or Officers of the local municipality or local board; members of Council or a local board; any persons who are candidates in the 2022 Municipal Election; and any persons who are registered third parties for the 2022 Municipal Election.
All interested applicants should submit a letter of interest outlining your qualifications to the County Clerk before July 8, 2022.
