County of Simcoe supporting businesses with Labour Market Impact Assessment Workshops

Midhurst/October 25, 2023 – The County of Simcoe is hosting a two-part workshop on Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIA) to help businesses looking to recruit staff from abroad. Participants will learn tips and gain valuable insights into how to navigate the complex paperwork, understand the eligibility criteria, and increase their chances of a successful LMIA application.

A Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is a federal government document that an employer in Canada may need to get before hiring a foreign worker. A positive LMIA will show that there is a need for a foreign worker to fill the job. It will also show that no Canadian worker or permanent resident is available to do the job. More information about the process is available at
