March 23, 2023 – The County is aware of an email issue that our contracted cart exchange vendor experienced on the evening of March 22 and into March 23. We are investigating the scale of this issue with the vendor; however, we know that a significant number of emails have been issued to people who have requested cart exchanges. Residents who requested other forms of communication, such as text or phone, are not believed to have been impacted.
We take this matter seriously and sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.
Upon learning of the issue, the County immediately requested our vendor turn off all outgoing emails until this matter is resolved. Currently, we continue to investigate the matter with our vendor to determine if there will be an impact on the cart exchange delivery schedule or notification process going forward. We will keep those affected updated as more information becomes available.
Residents are encouraged to call the Service Simcoe Contact Centre at 705-735-6901 if they continue to receive numerous cart exchange notifications. Updates will also be posted on simcoe.ca.
