County of Simcoe celebrates Nursing Week


May 6 to 12, 2024

Midhurst/May 6, 2024 – Warden Basil Clarke has officially designated May 6 to 12, 2024 as Nurses Week, an opportunity to applaud the invaluable contributions of healthcare professionals dedicated to the well-being of our residents and visitors.

The County proudly owns and operates four long-term care homes and three seniors’ services campuses. These locations employ more than 1,000 staff, including Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Personal Support Workers, dietary, facility and administrative professionals, all committed to the health and well-being of our residents.

Throughout the month of May, the County is celebrating various recognition days and weeks, highlighting the unwavering dedication of healthcare heroes, including those from the County of Simcoe Paramedic Services, Long Term Care and Seniors Services, along with administrative and support personnel. Their relentless efforts ensure the County can continue to meet the evolving needs of our residents.

This May, we extend our continued gratitude to all those who have worked tirelessly, with courage and grace, in service to our communities.”

Throughout May, residents are encouraged to join in acknowledging the efforts of healthcare professionals across divisions such as Long-term Care, Paramedic Services, Seniors Services, Emergency Management, and the broader healthcare sector.
