The County of Simcoe is launching a County-wide multi-residential organics program focused on recovering organics (i.e. food waste) from multi-residential (six or more residential units, condominiums) properties. For multi-residential buildings with six or more units.

The multi-residential organics program will be implemented for an entire property. If you would like to apply for your multi-residential property, please have one building representative complete an application. This could be an owner, landlord, property manager, superintendent, etc. If you are the building representative for a property, please contact solidwaste@simcoe.ca or call (705) 726-9300 for more details.

Frequently asked questions


County launched a multi-residential organics pilot program program for 18 months at 15 locations throughout the County from Spring 2024 to Fall 2025. Council approved the county-wide implementation of the program in 2025. (CCW – 2025-110).

If your building has 6 or more residential units and is not receiving curbside waste services from the County of Simcoe, your property is eligible for this program. Eligibility does not guarantee organics collection service. Contact solid waste at solidwaste@simcoe.ca or call 705 726 9300 ext. 1709 for more information on if your property is eligible for this program.

Carts are required to be accessible and out for collection by 7 a.m. on your regular collection schedule day.
