Midhurst/December 1, 2025 – The County is deeply saddened to confirm that a fatal incident occurred on Monday, December 1, at the Oro Landfill site. The incident involved County employees and resulted in one fatality.
Our thoughts are with the family, friends, and colleagues affected by this tragic loss.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating. Out of respect for the family’s privacy and the ongoing investigation, we are unable to share further information.
We remain committed to supporting our staff and ensuring they have access to all necessary resources.
Please note that the Oro Landfill will remain closed until further notice and flags are lowered to half-mast at the County Administration Centre in memory of our lost colleague.
