Midhurst/September 24, 2026 – The County of Simcoe has opened an online application portal for its new Bradford West Gwillimbury (BWG) Community Liaison Group for the County’s property at 136 Barrie Street in Bradford.
The Community Liaison Group will include representation from local residents who live within one kilometre of 136 Barrie Street, service providers who are connected to services offered at the Temporary Reception Centre, and representatives from the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury and the County of Simcoe. Participants will be encouraged to provide feedback, share perspectives, and help foster ongoing communication between the County and the community. Eligible representatives are encouraged to apply.
The group has been established to support information-sharing, discussion, and community feedback related to site operations and services.
The property at 136 Barrie Street was purchased by the County of Simcoe from LOFT Community Services in December 2025 and leased back to LOFT while construction continued on its new facility. With LOFT now relocated, the County has taken possession of the property and announced it will operate as a Temporary Reception Centre for up to 12 months. The site presents an opportunity to enhance local social and community service delivery for Bradford West Gwillimbury and surrounding communities.
Interested and eligible members can apply to join the Community Liaison Group at simcoe.ca/reception-centre. The group will meet monthly beginning in Fall 2026. Applications will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2026.
