Midhurst/January 29, 2024 – On January 31, 2024, at 3 p.m., media are invited to attend the inaugural County of Simcoe Age-Friendly Business and Age-Friendly Individual Recognition Awards celebrating organizations and individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to creating age-friendly communities.
The Age-Friendly Recognition Awards call for nominations launched in July 2023, as part of the County’s Age-Friendly Community Program. Originally established in 2016, the program aims to increase awareness of the County’s aging population and help businesses and organizations evaluate their environment and service delivery. New this year, the County is expanding this important initiative and hosting the first ever Awards Ceremony to recognize important community champions from across the county including Bradford West Gwillimbury, Collingwood, Essa, Innisfil, Severn, and the cities of Barrie and Orillia.
