Midhurst/February 13, 2025 – The County of Simcoe reminds residents of the following schedule changes during the Family Day holiday on Monday, February 17, 2025.
Curbside Waste Collection and Waste Drop-off Facilities
- Waste Collection is ongoing as there is no change to the County’s waste collection schedule
- All County Waste Drop-off Facilities are closed on Monday, February 17 except for the Matchedash facility, which is open on its regular schedule on Sunday, February 16 and Monday, February 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
LINX Transit
- LINX Transit services are not in operation on February 17 (with the exception of Route 4)
- Route 4 only will be operating a Sunday schedule on Monday, February 17
- Return to regularly scheduled services for all routes on Tuesday, February 18

County Administration Centre (Midhurst) & Service Simcoe Contact Centre
- The Administration Centre, including the Service Simcoe Contact Centre, will be closed on February 17.
Ontario Works and Children Services
- All Ontario Works and Children Services offices will be closed on February 17.
Lake Simcoe Regional Airport
- The Lake Simcoe Regional Airport will be operating on February 17.
Simcoe County Museum
- The Simcoe County Museum is currently closed to the public while undergoing renovations, with an expected re-opening to occur in March.
- The Simcoe County Museum skate trail will be open on February 17 with a dedicated Family Day event. More details are available at https://museum.simcoe.ca/.
Simcoe County Archives
- The Simcoe County Archives will be closed on February 17. The archives are currently closed to the public while undergoing renovations with an expected re-opening date in June.
