Housing Retention Program

The Housing Retention Program consists of two components, the Rent Bank and the Energy Assistance Fund. Partnerships have been developed between the County of Simcoe and the five Housing Resource Centres located in each of the major centres including Alliston, Barrie, Collingwood, Midland and Orillia. Assistance will be available to assist low income residents who are at risk of losing their rental housing with the exception of those who are eligible to receive assistance through Ontario Works. The Housing Resource Centres will complete applications and provide case management, information and referrals to those who are facing rent arrears or energy related emergencies.

Simcoe County residents wishing to apply for these programs are to contact the Housing Resource Centre in their area. Residents in the Bradford area are to contact the Housing Resource Centre in Alliston.
