The County’s emergency management program helps create disaster-resilient communities that are ready to meet the challenges of emergencies that might arise across our region.
Be Prepared
In a disaster, first responders and emergency workers focus their initial efforts on helping people who need immediate, urgent assistance. You need to be prepared for up to 72 hours.

EP Week 2024: May 5-11, 2024
Emergency Management Ontario’s Public Education team has shared the provincial theme for EP Week 2024.
The theme for EP Week 2024 is “Plan for every season”, which will run from May 5 until May 11, 2024.
The following products are now available for download:

- Heat illness safety one-pager
- Severe weather flyers (winter storms, extreme heat)
The team is also happy to share a series of informational tip sheets developed by the University of Waterloo’s Intact Centre. These sheets include important information on how to prepare for upcoming flood, fire and extreme heat seasons.
